Aww…you gotta love the recession. With the MPs’ expenses scandal (KitKat, Porn, Duck Mansion, the ever changing/elusive second home, it gets weirder by the second). I have always said every government is corrupt, just that some do their work [& steal], while others just steal.

Anyhoo, on to the delectable Mr. Gray. He’s a Conservative MP, with a lil’ knack for Foollipism (for the uninformed that’s Prince Phillip-ism), I just had to congratulate him on his sheer stupidity & lack of common sense. Thanks to Friday’s episode of Have I Got News for You, I discovered his lovable ass. The whole cheating on his breast cancer-stricken wife was so romantic, I had to Wikipedia him. Yes, it’s rather sad that my main source of News is HIGNFY, but  I can’t help it. It being the fact that I no longer use the bus or train regularly to Uni & I can’t be assed to go to the train station every morning to get the Metro paper & that I only watch the news after Doctor Who/HIGNFY/the occasional Wossy/whatever it is I occasionally watch telly for, since I can’t be assed to switch off the Telly, due to the simple fact that it didn’t come with a remote. But I digress.

Back to scheduled programming. On Wiki, I read about the Afghanistan Incident, full details here (the short version is he took photos of a dying soilder). He tried to claim for a Remembrance Sunday wreath. Apparently, he has gotten away with it before. You gotta love this lovable rascal. It’s amazing how these civil servants forget who pays their salaries. God bless selective amnesia.

For the life of me I can’t remember the name of the actual episode [of The Jetsons]. You’ve gotta love Bones, the only scripted show to be renewed for 2 seasons.

The Parents’ Guide to Facebook

A while back, my mum asked me about facebook, so here’s the parent-friendly version of facebook aka fb. Fb is a social networking site. Here are some simple steps to starting up on fb, forgive the rather scattered haphazard approach.

• Once you’ve signed up, it will ask you for your e-mail address (usually Hotmail or Yahoo!) and password. Don’t worry it’s safe.
• This will first show you those who are members of fb, you can add them if you want to, this sends a message to their nofication page, were they either accept your invitation or not. You also add friends later by using the "Find Friends" (under the "Friends" tab). NB: If your e-mail isn’t supported, you can add the person’s e-mail address individually.
• You could also invite those, who aren’t on fb by using the "Invite Friends" (also under the "Friends" tab). It uses the same logic as above.
• Fb is also a good way to connect with long lost pals. If this is what you’re looking for, I recommend joining a fb group.
• IMPORTANT: We love you with all our hearts, but never ever ever ever ever add us (i.e. your children) as your fb friend. Remember, there was a time when you were a kid & didn’t want your parents to know about your foul mouth, Devil May Cry thoughts & the real/fake you. We will only accept your fb add, after we’ve signed a written contract detailing our demands, deviators will be prosecuted. This is the cardinal rule, you should never break. We could always direct you to hi5.
• Fb is highly addictive, that’s why it’s usually banned at work & in schools. So, you need to acquire ninja skills to avoid your boss, during your fb time. Look, your boss is cool with you playing Solitare, Minesweeper, Hearts, Freecell or Spider Solitare, but not so cool with chatting, gawking or stalking on fb. Many stupid emlpoyees have lost their jobs thanks to comments they made on their fb pages.
• Profile Picture: It’s best to have a picture that shows what you look like, even if it’s 50 years old, as long as it vaguely looks like you, we’re cool with it. Please try not to have any really embarasing pics of yourself. Remember, loads of people may see it (especially if you’ve got the friends of friends of friends setting) & it’s also the first thing people see. Plus it helps us to identify you, you’re not the only John Smith on fb.
• Profile: Add as much info as you’re comfortable with. For mothers, who are age shy, you could use the settings to hide your age.
• Pictures: Whatever you’re comfortable with. Plus, your old mates can see what you’ve been up to. You can add pictures & create photo albums clicking on "Create Photo Album", this can be found in the "Photos" tab on your fb profile page. And remember you can set your album pivacy using "Album Privacy".
• Groups: I mentioned this earlier, it’s a good (& less desperate) way of finding people. For example, I found a couple of my old Sunny Fields classmates by making a group for ex-Sunnyfields students. BTW (by the way), the desperate way is finding people by typing their names using fb’s search engine or down right begging them.
• Work Friends: You can also find your work friends by typing in your employer’s name (e.g NNPC, HMV) in fb’s search engine. Although, this only works, if they’ve listed their employer’s name in their profile. You could also use this approach in finding classmates. Plus, this can also be done using the "Find Friends" section.

Free Comic Book Day Results

My first ever FCBD was not bad, I got 5 comics from my locals. 1 from Forbidden Planet and 4 from Nostalgia & Comics. Let me break it down for you -

• Bongo’s Free for All (from FP): This was out of love, Obiora you owe me, you owe me Wolverine dude, I gave up Wolverine cause of you. It was in my hand! Damn FP’s one comic policy, they still had all the comics left. Oh well, I got a free Drag Me to Hell poster.
• Now I’m officially in love with N&C’s policy, you were allowed one of each! Plus they had chocolate & lollipops, they were even hosting a costume competition and they had fan art. Plus, I got a free figurine decoder thingy. Unfortunately I missed out on the whole lot, didn’t go as early as planned, infact I went a hour & half before closing. Anyhoo, here are the other comics.
• The Avengers: I know I only really read X-Men, but I like to keep tabs on the others (Spidey is one of my faves). Imagine my shock, Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin’s now Iron Patriot (basically an Iron Man rip off), Venom’s now Spider-Man, Bullseye’s Hawkeye, Moonstone’s Ms. Marvel, Daken’s Wolverine, then there’s Ares, Captain Marvel & The Sentry. Plus, all these baddies are government sanctioned! Don’t worry folks the good guys are still the good guys (not according to the government though). BTW, this was the only FCBD comic left, yes people, the other 3 comics are actually real sellable issues.
• Dark Reign: The Mighty Avengers #21: Earth’s Mightiest Part 1 of 3
• DC Universe 0: The Ending Begins Here: I don’t read DC, but it’s by Grant Morrison & Geoff Johns.
• Secret Invasion #7 of 8

So I let my inner geek/nerd freak fly & got some randoms, hey there were cheap & in a pack of 6.

The forgotten Italian Assassin

I know it’s been a while since I made an Assassin’s Creed II update, I kinda forgot about it, apparently, Ubisoft were sending 3 random signals to AC’s newsletter subscribers. I got partitions 1, 3 & 5. I got my 3rd & final e-mail from Ubisoft ages ago, but I couldn’t assed to search my Yahoo! account (I get enough junk mail & stuff, that i usually don’t check my Yahoo! account). Anyhoo, here’s partition 5 aka BOBUPNZ.

If you’re really interested about the rest I recommend Rise and Shine. She has everything on it, she (& other crazy people) made 2 partitions themselves. It’s refreshing to know there are other female gamers out there. Plus, she’s definately girlier than me, so you see folks, there are girly gamers out there.

Wow, they made theories. All I did was print out the pdfs & trick out my phone software. I feel so ashamed. Oh & MSN, sort out this bloody date thing, what’s the whole point of me selecting the format, if you don’t stick it?

I finally read my Kick-Ass #6, which in turn led me to discover #1-4 via Google, I laughed my ass off, hid under my duvet, laughed some more, hid under the duvet again, closed my eyes, covered my mouth, I even yelped for good measure. Hit-Girl is ice-cold. You know something’s wrong when I say that Eddie Lomas had the most humane death scene in the whole Lomas Massacre. C’mon she only stabbed him  ONCE through (notice, I didn’t say in) the back & pulled out. Fat Guy #1 – got his stomach slashed, then his head water meloned. Skinny Guy #1 – got Hot Fuzzed (replace miniature spire with short blade (Katana?) & replace the lower jaw/tongue damage with lower jaw/tongue/upper jaw/brain/skull/scalp/baseball hat damage). Fat Guy #2 – Legless. Skinny Guy #2 – Armless. Woman aka "Sorry Sack of Shit" – Acupunture, twin blades style, translation one in the back & the back of the neck (both in whatever spinal cord segments), it even went through the door. Kick-Ass was right she really is "John Rambo meets Polly Pocket". For the uninitiated, I just described the ending of #3 & the beginning of #4. I’m patiently waiting for #7.

Aww…sweet old comic book violence, oh how I love thee.
