Free Comic Book Day

How the heck didn’t I know about this?! It’s been going on for 6 years (mostly in America, also in 30 other countries). I only found out about this from eBay, while I was looking for the 1st Print #1-5 of Kick-Ass. I would be lovely if both my local comic book stores are doing this*. Yes, I’ve joined the Kick-Ass & single comic issues bandwagon, I got my first issue/Kick-Ass #6 today at my local Forbidden Planet. I also got my monthly Essential X-Men, since I’m still in my reading drought, imagine my shock seeing Cassandra Nova & Emma Frost chatting during my obligatory flip through. All I know is when the drought’s over, I’ll be reading my unread 20 or so odd novels & comics. I just keep buying ‘em, my summer will consist of reading Lee Child, Eoin Colfer, Patricia Cornwell, David Gibbons, James Patterson, Terry Pratchett & other random people.

**I find it rather funny that Forbidden Planet’s website always forget to list my local FP store, which is less than 5mins away from me, but they always list Nostalgia & Comics, which is a good 10-20 mins away, plus it doesn’t list the Birmingham store at all on the site. Curiouser, Curiouser.

Initially, I was going for the title "Sweet Minty Jebus", but I just remembered this song, & Beyonce definately upset the rythmn. I kept clutching my chair & my chest. BTW, Enrique definately needs the Rythmn Divine.

Dollhouse – A New Hope?

I doubt there will be a season 2, but if FOX decides to pull a Tru Calling/Terminator: TSCC, I won’t mind. This might be a long post, you’ve been warned. I enjoyed the whole non-linear approach to the story, Dollhouse works more as an ensemble. Thank God, they finally discovered that.Awesome scenes

• “You must maintain the illusion” – November [as Mellie as November with a message]: The whole message scene with the makeout session/music cue/transition to a doll with a message, theb back again to an Active. Mellie is slowly becoming my fave doll (watch out Sierra), Miracle Laurie is very good with transitions, the killer flower scene still gets me, it’s all in the eyes.
• “Catherine, mistress of the dark observation” – “Roger” (Victor): The Adelle DeWitt story arc was awesome! She has so many layers, it’s [onion] scary. The whole Roger deal was very very ironic, this quote sums it up – “I am not suggesting you become a client, [pause] I think the universe will collapse under that one”. So DeWitt is Ms. Lonely Hearts, she’s sleeping with the merchandise, she’s ice cold & actually has a heart. The fencing scene was awesome, no white clothing & gear in site. I smell millitay training, for crying out loud woman, you just got shot! Saddest. Client. Ever.
• The NSA file. Best. Acetate. Ever.
• Dominic go [semi] bye-bye. Viva la Attic. I actually enjoyed the fact that the NSA actually want to keep the Dollhouse in line. Although, I still think there’s another spy, cause there are still  unanswered questions.
• Train scene: NSA meets body double. C’mon, how did Sierra know exactly what to wear? Plus Sierra has stronger features & seems taller compared to her double. I still enjoyed the NSA scenes, I want that phone, the eye copying phone. “Mossad doesn’t even double tag” – Sierra as super spyhunter.
• Valerie Cruz: I miss Dresden.
• “I make a cheerleader, they make a cheerleader that shoots people, or an assassin that does cheers” – Topher

Although, there’re are still some issues

• Echo: Is she really helping the dollhouse? Herself? Both? No offense, but if I owned a multi-billion dollar operation & I don’t want self aware dolls aka an Alpha incident. I’d snuff out any inkling of self awareness ASAP. After Echo had volunteered herself to the chair & solved my spy problem. She’d be sleeping with the fishes. C’mon, she’s Alpha 2.0. I’m running a buisness, not a trial & error scheme.
• Spy: There’s gotta be another spy, Dominic is not that versed in computer myth, plus how did “November” know they had been compromised?
• Ass: How come November is the only doll with an ass? It was really sad seeing Dushku in the dominatrix outfit, all assless.
• Will there be another season?

Since episode 6, Dollhouse has actually delivered & I find myself watching it because I care instead of out of sci-fi/Whedon loyalty & pity. The last two episodes hold the honour of me rewatching them without skipping. I’m going to miss Boyd as Echo’s handler, the scene, were she gets a new handler, was kinda heart breaking.

Now, I’m off to watch Finding Nemo, then it’s the Doctor, then it’s my Process Design logbook. Whoop, whoop! Tennanty Goodness is in the building.

The body of the Italian Assassin?

The Assassin’s Creed 2 treasure hunt continues. Would have done this yesterday, after the e-mail, but Mobiola & my phone decided to start divorce proceedings. Fortunately, they’ve settled out of court, so here’s partition VQHSBEF.

This time, I held the paper with my left hand at arm’s length, my right hand holding the phone, with my right big toe on the PRTSC, with my first [successful] picture being, his groin. All the while doing this on my bed, with my laptop propped on my chair. Now my back is killing me.

Who knows, maybe I’ll finally clear my table & use the chair the way it was intended. BTW, damn you ITV, damn you, you stupid bastards, you really are that stupid. I’ve to wait till next week to watch Pushing Daisies. Damn you, for its stupid timing. Doctor Who’s tomorrow!

The Saddest Thing I’ve Seen…

…today was the queue for N-Dubz’[s] sold out gig at the Carling, sorry,  O2 Academy, the queue passed my building, the car park and blah blah. I could have taken a picture, but I couldn’t be assed.

The hand of the Italian Assassin?

It’s common knowledge I’ve never owned a webcam, but thanks to the Mobiola WebCamera 3 software I installed on my 6220 Classi, I’m now the pround owner of a wireless webcam. The things I do for Assassin’s Creed, anyhoo here’s a picture of the first partition, EFBUI*. That’s definately NOT Altair’s hand.

*Funny story, I had to hold the bleeding phone at arm’s length for Ubisoft to validate the whole thing. After the whole validation crap, you still have to keep a steady hand on the picture to see the damn thing. So I propped it on  the arm of my chair, steadily held the phone with my left hand, while my right big toe was on the CTRL button, with my right index finger on the PRTSC. And MSN crops the whole picture…

I mourn for Fossil Fuel.

The Assassins Creed 2 Dance

I knew it! The minute I saw the message alert (Yahoo!) from Ubisoft saying "The truth is written in blood …". I knew it!
Here’s the teaser. I wonder if those lovely guys at GAME were right about the whole Italian future dude (who’s actually in the past). At least, we know whoever he is, is going to know how to swim, because, the whole world’s-best-assassin-not-knowing-how-to-swim thing is rather sad.

What’s All the Hubbub, Bub?

As I was minding my own business, waiting for my American programs from my trusty website (I’m not telling), then I stumbled on Wolfy. Someone at FOX is soo going to get fired. Anyhoo, it was ok, apart the bits that are different from the comics (Toothy is Wolfy’s [half] brother, Frosty kinda sucks & is Foxy’s sister. C’mon, diamond formation was her other mutation, after the whole genocide thingy, please keep up). It’s kinda cool seeing the wires & incomplete CGI. Oh well, may still watch it on its 29/4/09 release (Haha Americans, we’re getting it before you….). Oh well, 6.5/10 and FOX next time you decide to pull an ill-advised publicity stunt (my bad, leak) please have some sense to pretend by giving it a time stamp (it appeared only 4 or was it 5 times). In simpler terms, this is X3 all over again. I’m still not over the whole Jean Gray split personality thing called Pheonix (Huh?).

Plus I was heavily stoked, when I heard my native tongue (Igbo) in the movie. Whatever the hell the Merc with the Mouth was saying was not Igbo. And he mistranslated. Igbo Kwenu!

Congrats bro, for your standing oviation with your rapping, yes dude, our Mummy is a queen.
