Steve Jobs should be impaled with his own turtleneck.

Yes, iTunes is acting like a bitch again. "This application has failed to start because 3ivx.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this probelm." – This is also the reason why I’ve never been able to use Quicktime in over a year, although I’ve never felt the sting since I use VLC (but I still feel the sting since I can’t watch certain videos on my ipod & itunes, although I haven’t used my ipod in over a year, since that glitch [yes people, I'm still updating my itunes manually]). 3ivx.dll strikes again. Plus during one of my few (hey I’m really lazy) updating sessions, I cracked the screen of my ipod, meaning i need to get a new one! Oh well, here’s to the recession, sales & the 10% discount I’ll get for recycling this shitfest, whenever I decide to go back to those geniuses. BTW, if I buy it from Apple, it would be my 3rd ipod & my first official iPod purchase from Apple.

Gosh, I really need to learn the art of coherency.

Songs you loved as a kid….

….that you shouldn’t have. Won’t be surprised if I’ve blogged about this before, but I remember it as one of my numerous facebook statuses. Anyhoo, watched 2 Become 1 on E4, a few hours ago & I remembered a conversation I had with a friend, Adaeze (aka Agbaya) about The Spice Girls. Yes people yours truly was a big Spice fan, I even had their merchandise (a pendent, a purse & their videogame, yes people on the Playstation (nka PS One)). Anyhoo, she asked if I thought they were virgins, I naively said "Yes". Then she said "No", then asked who out of the 5, did I really think was a virgin, I said "Baby Spice & maybe Sporty". Present me is laughing her ass off.

Well on to the original topic, the one song that always makes me cringe, whenever remember my younger self singing out loud with all my little heart, Last Night by AZ-Yet. Everytime I hear the words "Last night, I was inside of you", I just cringe, every single time.

Bump & Grind by R. Kelly – Oh this is so wrong, very very wrong, with Kells’ issues and the fact that woman (formerlly known as the 13 year old) is only a year older than me. "I don’t see nothing wrong with a little bump & grind", there is a probelm when she is underage.

In other music related randomness, I know everybody wants to be original, e.g Janelle Monae and her KFC suits & brillant songs, but sometimes it just gets ridiculous, e.g Oh by We Have Band, the song was weird, the cheap ass & weird ass video, the cheap & weird ass choreography it got a bit catchy after a minute, but I think that’s due to my warped sense of humour.

And finally, in another music related randomness, I created the male version of Single Ladies (okay only the chorus & I got it from a The Fly Guy Chronicles blog title), here it goes:

I only liked it, so I didn’t put a ring on it
I only liked it, so I didn’t put a ring on it
Now shut up, so I can get my lean on it
Now shut up, so I can get my lean on it

Now, if I could only remix the rest of the lyrics.

Safe journey to my family back home, on their way to our village today. Damn you Home Office, for the delays, have to do this crap all over again & I didn’t go home, DAMN YOU.

Films I’ve watched in the past week

Seven Pounds, Ghost Town, Towelhead (aka Nothing Is Private), Vicky Christina Barcelona, Internet Dating, The Gene Generation & Cyborg Girl (aka Cryborg She aka Boku no kanojo wa saibôgu).

Seven Pounds – Was a bit slow, but not that bad. Although I don’t expect any awards for Smith, calm down people I’m not a critic + I really don’t know much about acting, but Will Smith just looked pissed off. I enjoyed the mushiness of the ending.

Ghost Town – Enjoyed it, Ricky Gervais, annoying ghosts, the light, & that bloody bus. It was like watching Melinda Gordon as a sarcastic, annoying & surprisingly likable English dentist.

Towelhead – B.R.I.L.L.A.N.T. Although it took hours to watch, I kept pausing cause of those oh so many awkward moments. Summer Bishil deserves a nomination, I mean a serious one, you know those big ones, she certainly held her own against Aaron Eckhart.

Vicky Christina Barcelona – I didn’t know Javier Bardem was hot (hmm, I sound 12), I’ve only seen him in No Country For Old Men, people be warned, he is smoldering. Penelope Cruz was brillant as his crazy ex-wife. I really liked the ending- full circle, made me rewatch Scoop (hmm…Hugh Jackman….yes Em, I’m still in the evry dude on telly is scrumptious phase). As for the movie itself, I enjoyed it, especially Cruz’s breakdown following the end of her three-lationship (Javier, herself & Scarlet Johanssen).

The last three deserve a special category – Films, I’ve watched in the last 12 hours – for the simple fact that the first two (Internet Dating & Gene Generation) confused me, ID was all over the place, there were genuinely funny scenes, c’mon it was Katt Williams, while Cyborg Girl didn’t, even though it had a time paradox in it.

Anyhoo, ID was written by Romeo Miller (pka Lil’ Romeo) & directed by Master P (aka Percy Miller, RM’s father). Master P’s character (Katt’s character’s cousin) didn’t make sense, initially it did, but it spiralled. Romeo, please go to writing school, please.

TGG, was confusing for like 5mins, till I googled it, then got carried away by the original comic, The DNA Chronicles. Plus the sex scene scared me, I kept screaming "Please don’t show Bai Ling’s nipples, please don’t, I beg of you, please don’t", then they showed IT (not them, IT). Oh well the movie wasn’t that bad (hey I love a Z-list action movie, but don’t you dare try to make me watch a Z-list rom-com), it could have been better.

Finally, Cyborg Girl was lovely, I’m a big sucker for Asian rom-coms, plus this was a sci-fi romantic comedy, basically it was The Terminator as a romantic comedy. From the lovely director, who gave us My Sassy Girl (the original, not the American remake). Haruka Ayase was super cute & very robotic, while Keisuke Koide was your typical Asian rom-com lead, you know cute/ordinary/very very likable.

About to watch The Good, The Bad, The Weird (aka Joheunnom nabbeunnom isanghannom), God bless the internet. If it’s as a good as everyone says, then I will watch it again in the cinemas, when it is released (Feb 6, 2009. UK).

Eternal Death

Calm down people, I don’t mean that death, I mean the other one, videogame death. Ever played a game, where your character has been killed & instead of restarting at the latest checkpoint, you continue dying. Just happened to me on Sunday, was playing Beyond Good & Evil on the PS2, & Jade got zapped by the surveillance thingy. Was funny, since I had the vibration on, it just kept on going & going [like the Engerizer Bunny], I finally wisened up after 10mins. All this time, Jade was doing the slow mo death scene, yup, that mid-air circlar thing she does when she dies, with the camera rotating, giving different angles of her death.

For those really curious ones, this was during the Alpha Section Und. Quarters section (after the IRIS/Factory Mission), after i had dodged all those lasers, got down to the proper basement, was behind the blue energy barrier, all stealthy-like, trying to snick under it, when the surveillance drone caught me.

Oh well…..I’m off to die again, wish me luck.

My Yakuza-related frustration

Well, I finally played my copy of Yakuza 2 & it’s pissing me off. Basically, it freezes/crashes like DMX on ice, I can’t open the coin lockers or item boxes, since that’s crash central. And most importantly, the cinematic sequences are addicted to crash, & in a game like Yakuza, that’s basically the most important thing. Sometimes I’m lucky, the audio & video freeze, but the subtitles work perfectly. As I’m typing this, it’s still stuck on the coin lockers, fortunetely I had just saved via the telephone before the coin lockers. This is at per level with the defective GH3, I had last time. Plus Albatross Akagi’s challenge was as frustrating as a Super Eagles’ match, finally got it after leaving my PS2 on pause for over 14hours. Oh & don’t give me that lame DVD-9 excuse God of War I & II were both DVD-9s & they worked just fine……Although 50 Cent:Bulletproof acted like a bitch (just like him)…..blame my brother for this mistake, he’s still in his G-Unit phase, I’m not going to get him the sequel even if he begged me, just play all those GTAs [& GTA:IV, whenever Linda finally gives it to me as a birthday prezzie].

BTW, the new Windows Live layout sucks. It’s still frozen, back to the 360 then.

The MAMAs on MTV BASE (UK) tonight

Well, it’s on tonight at 2230, for those of you who are interested & can afford a Virgin/Sky package. For those, who have Freeview, TMF’s showing the Director’s Cut of the MTV EMAs tonight at 2100. For those, who don’t give a toss, our regular dose of Have I Got News For You is on (for the ignorant, it’s on at 2100, BBC One).

Off to fry me some yam, with sardines, tomatoes & onions…hmmmm
